Comments Off on Skincare Resolutions – Are they still relevant?

written by Raulla S. Mitchell

Are you thinking about New Year’s resolutions for 2021?  Have your promises to revolutionize life, love, work, and everything in your personal universe gone into hiding, in temporary isolation like you, OR are you dreaming big with news of widely distributed COVID vaccines sometime within the first quarter?  Has this global pandemic and time away from the rapidly spinning wheel we call life led you to make one or two changes that may change so much more in your life and the world?

I know, I’ve been thinking about how I want to feel in 2021.  I want to feel calmer, more rested, happier everyday, less frazzled, less self-rewarded for doing too much too fast, checking off items on longer and longer detailed daily lists, leaving precious time gone, gone, gone (because that’s all we really have when you think about it) without the reward of feeling peaceful and happy as a human being in a human(e) world.

How about you?  Do you love writing down a to-do list of resolutions, or would you prefer to dream about how you’d love to feel in an ideal world of your own making, and then take baby steps, or leaps if you like, into creating that world?

Whatever makes your heart happy – make some dreams come true in 2021!

If resolutions work, super!  If a modified mindset, looking at your life from a fresh perspective or reflecting upon how you want to feel, and then taking actions to make you feel this way seems intriguing, why not try it on? I think a lot of us will be trying on new ways of looking at things, doing things, and seeing if we feel better, more genuine, happier, more peaceful, as we come out of a global pandemic that most of us would have believed to be unimaginable before it became all too real.

Here’s a couple of my thoughts:

Celebrate the beauty of who you are, inside and out.  Mostly inside. Be compassionate with yourself, how you look and feel, and all else will fall into place. → Read more

Comments Off on Holiday Stress and Your Skin

written by Raulla S. Mitchell

Want to shine, shimmer and dazzle this season, but feeling like you’re sliding into overdrive or pandemic sadness?  Thanksgiving travels, or family in from out of town?  Or not, this year with the global pandemic?  Many of us are deeply missing our families who live far away from us, and choose to stay put, and not risk air travel at this time.  Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday,…what’s next…marketing names and games to get you out of the house and into the stores (or on-line as many of us are doing to stay safe) for uber holiday shopping.  Entertaining family and friends, and parties that normally sweep you away on a magic carpet of energy and excitement may be replaced by smaller nuclear family celebrations, and many of us may be alone this year, and may understandably feel lonely, sad, disheartened.  All of these emotions can also leave your  your skin fatigued and stressed out.

Skin, the largest organ of your body will show the first visible signs of lifestyle imbalance including excessive dryness, inflammation, acne, eczema, itchiness and irritation. Beautiful skin, at its foundation, begins with healthy lifestyle choices. Your skin is effected by every thought, feeling, emotion and action. If you are stressed out trying to do it all or feeling sad or depressed for any reason (in a seemingly effortless manner), chances are, so is your skin.

Your mind can be comfy in de-Nile, but your skin will tell the truth.  Listen to your skin.

10 Ways to reduce and manage stress naturally this holiday season with healthy lifestyle choices (we’re talking big rewards for just a few common sense easy ideas, no major overhaul):
